School Social Work Support Services

In partnership with the Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS), RCOE’s Student Support Services School Social Workers provide a comprehensive system of support for foster youth across Riverside County.

Our program focuses on three core areas:

  • Capacity Building – Offering training, workshops, technical assistance, and professional development to equip educators, social service practitioners, and community partners with evidence-based practices to better support foster youth.
  • Expanded Support for Foster Youth – Strengthening school district capacity to meet the unique needs of foster youth through improved communication, cross-agency collaboration, and strategic resource connections.
  • Sustainable Systems of Support – Creating interconnected networks that prioritize the holistic well-being, educational success, and resilience of foster youth.

Through dedicated School Social Workers and MSW interns, this team bridges education and social services, providing direct student support, guiding school districts in developing effective internal systems, and ensuring strong partnerships between schools, DPSS, caregivers, and community organizations. Together, we are building scalable, lasting solutions to remove barriers and create pathways for foster youth to thrive.
