Granicus, a leading municipal and government web design vendor was first engaged to work with RCOE in 2019. The project was led internally by Kathy Beglau, Digital Marketing Communications Manager and team members in Web Services and the Superintendent’s Office.
Previous site analytics, “heat map” usage data, and feedback from employees were used as preliminary research to come up with the site architecture. A User Experience Advisory Group made up of employees from each the division reviewed initial plans from Granicus and prioritized features and content layout structure to serve students, parents, staff, district staff, and the community.
Nearly 60 employees across all divisions received training in groups and as individuals in preparation for migrating, updating, and maintaining their own divisions’ content on the new site.
