Independent home-schooled students must also enroll in Scripps by January 30, 2026 to participate within their local public school, with approval of the school. Spelling Bee
The Spelling Bee supports students in grades 4–8 as they develop their vocabulary, language skills, and spelling accuracy. After competing at the school and district levels, top spellers advance to the county competition.
The county champion earns the opportunity to represent Riverside County at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
