Community Engagement and Partnerships

The Community Engagement and Partnerships (CEP) unit leads external engagement and partnership efforts for the Office of the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools (ORCSS) and the programs and services of the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE).

Sub-groups within CEP include the Community Engagement and Partnerships Representatives who create partnership opportunities to support students, families, and schools, as well as promote the Superintendent's Initiatives. Staff work closely with non-profit organizations, schools, community-based organizations, businesses, and government entities.

The Digital Productions Services team works diligently throughout the Riverside County showcasing student achievement, promoting academic programs, celebrating educator excellence, while producing for The Torch, a podcast by the Riverside County Office of Education.

CEP also implements social media communications strategies in order to share valuable resources with the education community and foster engagement and partnership opportunities.

Finally, the unit also coordinates with Excellence Recognition Programs to honor education stakeholders and celebrate success.

With staff in all three of RCOE's offices - Riverside, Indio, and Murrieta - some regular activities of CEP include:

The annual State of Education Address event presented by County Superintendent, Dr. Edwin Gomez, is open to the public and held in March. Towards the end of the school year, top educators in the county are recognized at the annual Celebrating Educators Luncheon, and top graduating high school seniors (selected by their districts) are honored at the annual Student Academic Awards Recognition Dinner.

Visit the Student Events page for published dates of the County, State, and National competitions coordinated by the CEP Unit.

Efforts are focused on promoting the superintendent’s five initiatives to support student success including a focus on mental health, financial literacy, literacy by fifth grade, competitive edge, and foster youth success.

We are committed to building a stronger and more vibrant Riverside County by connecting students, educators, and schools to surrounding communities in mutually beneficial ways.
